New Zealand win in Dubai
Dubai Event Mark

Black Foils start 2025 Season in style with victory in Dubai, as Emirates Great Britain and United States defeated in Mina Rashid final.

New Zealand planted its flag in the 2025 Season, beating Emirates GBR and the United States to claim a dominant win in the Dubai opener.

Over two days which saw five different winners in each of the five Fleet Races, the Kiwis showed impressive consistency to top the point rankings in the race for qualification for the Final, before driving an excellent race in the winner-takes-all showdown - coming out on top after multiple wind shifts and lead changes.

It marks the second consecutive win for Peter Burling’s team in Dubai - following victory on Mina Rashid in Season 4 - and sets the Black Foils up perfectly for the next event - their home race in Auckland.
