Germany by Deutsche Bank overcame the tricky Lake Geneva conditions to win their first ever SailGP event, defeating BONDS Flying Roos and Switzerland with a perfect performance by Erik Heil and his team.
With little wind over the two days of the event throwing up a tough racing environment, each of the five fleet races were won by different teams, although Germany were a solid contender throughout and made their consistency shown with a win in race four.
This helped book Heil's team a place in the Final, where they were pitted against BONDS Flying Roos and hosts Switzerland, and it was the Germans who mastered the conditions to clinch the win and and their memorable SailGP milestone.
